Do I need to provide my own lights and equipment?
No. We supply everything needed for your installation, including commercial-grade LED lights, professional timers, extension cords, and all mounting hardware. Our high-quality lights far exceed store-bought versions in durability, energy efficiency, and appearance. Once the season is over, we return to remove the lights and store them for the following season. Nothing needed on your end!
What do you mean by custom design and custom-built lighting solutions?
Custom Design: Our team takes your vision and house measurements to create a customized plan tailored specifically to your home and property.
Custom-built lights: For lights installed on your home, we do not use pre-strung strands. Each C-9 bulb is perfectly spaced and individually strung during the installation process. Our team builds the strands to ensure the perfect fit.
When should I schedule my Christmas light installation?
We recommend booking as early as possible to ensure optimal availability, especially if you have specific timing requirements for your installation. We start taking reservations in July and begin Christmas light installations in late September.
Some clients prefer to incorporate lights into their Halloween lawn decorations (and we also offer special Halloween light displays). However, it’s important to note that light systems do not need to be turned on at the time of installation. For jobs in September and October, the lights can remain essentially unseen until the homeowner is ready.
What outdoor Christmas light and decor services do you offer homeowners?
For lighting, choose between timeless white and classic Christmas colors. We also hang traditional holiday decorations, such as wreaths and bows. If you have a special request, speak to our design team. When possible, we’ll work to accommodate requests outside of our standard services.

Are you insured and what types of safety measures do you follow?
Yes. Christmas Lights Knoxville has partnered with Cornerstone Construction, a fully licensed and insured contractor in Tennessee. Additionally, our light installation teams are comprised of professional roofers. These experts are trained to use safety protocols and practices that protect your roofs and gutters.
What maintenance is included with our Christmas light installation?
Our service includes seasonal maintenance. We will replace burnt-out bulbs and repair weather damage caused by storms to ensure your lights look great throughout the holidays. Contact us to report issues. Our repair crew can typically respond within 1 to 3 days.

Why did my lights “trip off” or quit working?
If your Christmas lights suddenly go dark after rain or snow, don’t worry, it’s usually a safety mechanism – a Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) – doing its job. The GFI is a feature required by code in outdoor outlets. It senses water and shuts off power automatically to prevent shocks and electrical damage.
Did you know resetting the GFI is a simple process that can be done by homeowners? It’s the same concept as resetting a bathroom outlet or plug on your hair dryer.
How to reset the GFI:
- Look for the outdoor outlet with RESET and TEST buttons.
- Unplug your lights and wait until the outlet is dry.
- Press the RESET button until you feel a click.
- Plug your lights back in.
- Contact us if it does not work (remember your lights may not turn on if it’s daylight).
